“The Pentacam®’s virtue is its versatility. In our practice, the Pentacam® is mainly used for screening and follow-up of refractive patients as well as assessment of topographic irregularities. Its outstanding non-touch pachymetry function not only provides a reliable measurement of the central corneal thickness but is also a great tool to educate patients. Measuring true elevation instead of deriving elevation from curvature, the Pentacam® is a valuable aid for keratoconus screening. Due to its smooth operation the Pentacam® integrates wonderfully into the day-to-day practice workflow.”

“I´ve had many patients that i might have rejected based on topography alone, but because of the Pentacam®, they have had LASIK. Several patients with abnormal topos Underwent Pentacam® analysis. Evaluation of the pachs and anterior and posterior elevations determined that the cornea was not abnormal. I now have a higher level of confidence in analyzing patients for refractive surgery. I love the Pentacam®.”
March Michelson, M.D., Birmingham, USA
“I have found the Pentacam® useful in planning and screening IntacsŽ with keratoconus patients, and in managing post-PKP patients and decisionmaking with respect to suture removal.”
Robert W. Snyder, M.D., Tucson, USA
"Pentacam® is a fast, reliable and accurate instrument that provides important diagnostic information about the cornea and anterior segment of the eye. It is very useful for screening candidates for refractive surgery, as well as for understanding the effects of the surgery on the cornea. The pachymetric maps are very reproducible and central values correlate very well with ultrasound. Pentacam® also provides valuable information for cataract patients, helping in the decision process trough the optical density measurements, as for IOL power calculations, since it provides more accurate corneal refractive power measurements. The Oculus Pentacam® has become, over the past months, a very important tool for my daily clinical practice.”
Renato Ambrósio Jr., MD, PhD Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
"I have worked with just about every topography system available and the PENTACAM® is the first system that performs every measurement (curvature, front and back elevation, and corneal thickness) in an accurate and reliable fashion. We previously had our complex cases evaluated on multiple systems traveling between two offices. The PENTACAM® can do it all. It is technician and patient friendly and images even the irregular corneas that other systems can't. It has become our indispensable topography system."

"The Pentacam® Scheimpflug Camera has just become one of the favorite device in my daily practice of cataract and refractive surgery. Actually, it seems to me inconceivable to work without the Pentacam® for the misdetection of fruste keratoconus, corneal war page, corneal ectasia." "The Pentacam® contains the most powerful and sharp topographer I used to permit a successful ortho K lens fitting in more than 85% at the first trial."
Alain-Nicolas GILG, MD Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology Lyon-Sud Hospital Centre Lyon, France
”Pentacam® provides with the most accurate and comprehensive corneal thickness, anterior chamber depth and corneal elevation maps. In addition, I use the Scheimpflug camera to follow-up all my corneal and intraocular implants"
Arturo Chayet Director Codet-Aris Vision Institute Tijuana, Mexico 22320
"The 3D-Scheimpflug imaging provides fast and important additional information, which helps to improve both, diagnosis and refractive surgical outcomes."

“The PENTACAM® is seen from my point of view the most acquisition able device for both daily routine clinical examination and special scientific investigation of the anterior eye segment. Very favorable for me specially to be able to do the follow up’s to evaluate the objective changes in the anterior segment in glaucoma eyes e.g. AC angle before and after pharmacological tests and after surgical procedures such as Nd:YAG iridotomy or cataract surgery. Using the Scheimpflug images of the Pentacam® we are able to measure the thickness of the new accomodating IOL WIOL-CF in the capsule after hydratation to receive objective information of its position in the capsule. At present time we use PENTACAM® before and after aspiration of the secondary cataract proliferations for obtaining of objective data concerning posterior capsule.”
Assoc. Prof. Jan Novak, MD, PhD Head of Department of Ophthalmology Regional Hospital Pardubice, Institute of Health Studies of University Pardubice, Czech Republic.
The Pentacam® is the perfect instrument for refractive patient screening:
 | real non-contact pachymetry - better than any topographic device | | anterior chamber depth - for phakic implants | | corneal topography - exclusion of keratoconus | | white to white measurement. |
The Pentacam® is today the powerful tool for the objective follow-up of phakic refractive lens implants.
No glaucoma screening or treatment without the Pentacam®: pachymetry, chamber angle configuration, ACD with online pressure correction.
Dr. med. Tobias H Neuhann Augenklinik am Marienplatz Marienplatz 18/19 80331 München
"The Pentacam® is the first instrument I have seen that provides an accurate measure of both the front and back surfaces of the cornea. With this information we will be able to calculate the true power of the cornea in patients that have had previous refractive surgery. This direct method of measurement will be much better than the historical and contact lens methods we have published previously."
